Biography

Anne LAM (Organ) is Director of Music and Organist at Chung Chi College Chapel, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where she also teaches organ performance (Music Department) and graduate sacred music courses (Divinity School). Her solo performances have been broadcast on Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4, Metro Radio Hong Kong and American Public Radio’s programme “Pipedreams” in the United States. In 2012, Anne won Second Prize in the 6th Miami International Organ Competition and was named semi-finalist in the National Young Artists Competition in Organ (NYACOP) . She served as the founding dean of Hong Kong Chapter, The American Guild of Organists (AGO) from 2014-2016. Recent engagements include three CD recordings with choristers from Macau, performing Handel‘s organ concerto with Asia Collegium Musicum (Japan), and Saint-Saëns’s Symphony No. 3 with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra during the 2017 Hong Kong Arts Festival.

After completing her bachelor’s degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Anne was awarded a prestigious full-tuition scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund for her graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, New York where she gained a Sacred Music Diploma, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Organ Performance and Literature. She is recipient of numerous scholarships, including the Parsons Music Scholarship, Mount Royal Conservatory Scholarship, C.F. Hu Postgraduate Memorial Scholarship, Ann Anway Scholarship, Betty Bauer Organ Memorial Scholarship and Evelyn A. Fraser Scholarship. Her organ improvisation was published in the Eastman Organ Book (2011) and she served as an organ teaching assistant for the Organ and Historical Keyboards Department at Eastman. During 2007-2013, she served as Director of Music and Organist for several Episcopal churches in upstate New York.

 

Anne has performed across the world, including China, Canada, England, France, Hong Kong, Macau, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United States. In frequent demand as continuo player/accompanist/ soloist, she has performed in concerts multiple times with The Hong Kong Bach Choir, Hong Kong SingFest, The Hong Kong Baptist University Choirs, The Hong Kong Arts Festival programs and Le French May projects. When away from music, Anne can be found reading, baking, or wandering in the woods with her super intelligent border collie labrador mix.

林芍彬 (管風琴) 現為香港中文大學崇基學院禮拜堂音樂統籌及風琴師,並兼任該大學音樂系管風琴導師及神學院研究生課程講師。她的獨奏演出曾在香港電台第四台、新城電台、及美國全國公共廣播電台中被播放。二零一二年,她獲第六屆邁阿密國際管風琴大賽亞軍,又晉身全美青年藝術家管風琴比賽半總決賽。二零一四年至一六年出任美國管風琴家協會香港分會的創會會長。最近的演出包括與日本Asia Collegium Musicum合作演奏韓德爾的《管風琴協奏曲》、於香二零一七年港藝術節與辛辛那提交響樂團演奏聖桑《第三交響曲「管風琴」》及與澳門三個女聲合唱團灌錄三張唱片錄音。

 

林氏畢業於香港中文大學音樂系,獲頒香港賽馬會音樂及舞蹈信託基金全額獎學金前往紐約伊士曼音樂學院深造,取得聖樂文憑,管風琴演奏碩士及博士學位。她屢獲獎學金,包括柏斯音樂獎學金、皇家山音樂學院獎學金、胡格非畢業生海外深造紀念獎學金、安•艾維獎學金、比蒂•鮑華管風琴紀念獎學金、伊芙蓮•費沙獎學金。其即興演奏收錄於二零一一年出版的《伊士曼管風琴演奏集》。她曾任伊士曼音樂學院管風琴及古鍵盤樂器學系助教。二零七至二零一三年期間,她在紐約上州的聖公會教堂擔任音樂總監及風琴師。

 

林氏曾於世界各地演奏,包括中國、加拿大、英國、法國、香港、澳門、荷蘭、紐西蘭及美國。她又經常獲邀以合唱團伴奏、樂團伴奏或獨奏者身份與香港巴赫合唱團、香港聲蜚合唱節、香港浸會大學合唱團、香港藝術節及法國五月藝術節中演出。
